Twitter users warned of phishing attacks: Sophos
Posted in Phishing by admin at 2:35 am | No Comments »

Sophos has warned twitter customers of a possible phishing scam. Sophos warns not to visit website linked by other twitter friends. Many of these sites are bogus and will trick the user to enter the twitter user name and password.

Many of these tweets are so tempting like

“Hey, i found a website with your pic on it… LOL check it out here” “hey! check out this funny blog about you…”

“hey. i won an iphone! come see how here”

“Wanna win the new iPhone? It’s so easy and cool, I love this thing!”

Compromised accounts are used by the hacker to spread the phishing attack to other users.

Few of the celebrity accounts were hacked last week when password reset tool used by the twitter employee was hacked by some unknown hacker. Obama, Britney etc were on that list.
